Welcome to Founders Hall, NYU’s newest residence hall and home to over 700 first-year students, located in the Union Square/East Village area of NYC! Built on the site of the former St. Ann’s church, the historic façade and fence have been preserved as part of the front courtyard. To help facilitate the community, enhance your academic experience, plan events, and provide support, there are 25 Resident Assistants, 1 Resource Center Assistant, 2 live-in professional staff, 1 Student Affairs Administrator (Tom Ellett), and 1 Faculty-Fellow in Residence (Crystal Parikh) with their families.
With 26 floors, Founders features a large outdoor courtyard, a community garden, two TV lounges, one study lounge with computers, wi-fi access throughout the lobby and lounges, recycling/trash rooms on every floor, a laundry room, and energy and sustainability focused features.

As part of the First Year Residential Experience (FYRE) program, Founders’ residents will get the opportunity to participate in activities designed to support them in the transition to college, as well as getting to know one another and exploring all of the great things that NYU and New York City has to offer. Founders is also the home to several explorations communities which each have their own Faculty Affiliate who work closely with the floor and the floor’s theme. We have one Faculty Fellow in Residence (FFiR) who lives in the hall and plans programs and opportunities to meet and engage with residents. In addition, Founders has a Writing Affiliate that helps first year students learn and understand how to succeed in writing their first college level papers while at NYU. Throughout the year there will be many chances to get involved especially with the Founders Advisory Board (FAB), our very own hall government where you can run for an elected position or serve on the general council.

Founders Hall has a great community and we are excited to welcome you as part of it!

Hey Everyone! My name is Winston Tracy and I am excited to be a part of the NYU family! This will be my third year NYU, but I am still learning, growing, and trying to enhance our hall daily. I was born in San Antonio, Texas, but moved A LOT as my parents were in the military. I went to college at the University of Missouri (MIZZOU Go Tigers!) where I earned a B.S. in Business Administration and a M.A. in Educational Leadership. I love working with students and being in the college environment. Whenever I have the chance I am trying to have fun, but I always work hard to accomplish everything I need to. I love playing and watching sports, eating, sleeping, watching movies, dancing, and anything new. In addition, I also have a dog that is the love of my life named Miles. He is in love with people and may even think he is one! He takes up quite a bit of time but would love to meet you if you are interested. Yup, I pretty much love to do everything! Please feel free to stop by whenever if you need anything, want to chat about life, or just have some free time.

I have been working with N.Y.U. for over 15 years. I have worked in over 10 residence halls and I am very proud to be apart of the NYU Office of Residential Life and Housing Services department. I am enrolled in NYU's SCPS school and am a candidate for a BS in Leadership and Management.  I have four (4) daughters, a step son, and a fiancé.  Four of my children are currently attending college. I coach my 11 year old daughter's little league baseball team amongst other teams throughout the year.  I love playing and watching sports.  I play basketball, baseball, football, tennis, and most other sports on a competitive level.  I love everything that has to do with a team. I've been upset maybe twice in my entire life and I am the most upbeat person you can meet.  I love pistachio flavored ice cream, large trees to sit under with a good book, and the beach when the sun is setting.  I'm the easiest person to get along with and  I am always willing to help out anyone in any way that I can.

Welcome!  My name is Leydi Gisell Rofman and I am the Residence Hall Assistant Director of Founders Hall.  I am originally from the Dominican Republic, but raised in Queens New York. I first came to NYU as a freshman way back in 2000 and I have worked as a student employee and full-time employee for NYU for over nine years.  I love to read, listen to music, and watch movies.  I am huge Law & Order and Clean House junkie!  I know at least one person in many NYU departments, so feel free to use me as a resource for any questions or concerns you may have. Please stop by the RHAD office on the 1st Floor to find out information, sign up for programming or just to hang out.  I am looking forward to a great academic year and to meeting all of the residents at Founders Hall!
