Hello everyone and welcome to Coral Tower! Coral is great community of students located in an exciting area of NYC.  We are within a few blocks of Union Square, Gramercy Park and the East Village.  Coral has approximately 400 students with a variety of smaller communities within. We offer low-cost living options as well as single and double spaces. What makes living at Coral so unique?

The professional staff consists of a Residence Hall Director (RHD), Residence Hall Assistant Director (RHAD) and a Residence Hall Resource Manager (RHRM) all who have offices in either the Residential Life and Hosuing Services Office or the Resource Center. All staff living in the hall serve as amazing resources to residents and work hard to help build strong communities on all floors and throughout the entire building.

NYU telephone service is provided at no additional charge. This includes unlimited local calling, call waiting and caller-id. Free voice mail is provided upon request. Your telephone number is included with your room assignment, and the telephone service is available when you check in. There is one telephone jack per person sharing one telephone line in each bedroom. Residents provide their own telephones.

Internet Connections

Ethernet connections to NYUNet and the Internet for each resident are provided in each bedroom. Connection information will be mailed with your room assignment before you arrive, will be available at check-in, or may be accessed at www.nyu.edu/resnet. Residents provide their own computers with Ethernet cards, cables, and software.

NYURoam Wireless Network

NYURoam wireless service is now available throughout the residence hall. If you need assistance accessing the network you can go to http://www.nyu.edu/its/wireless/configure for setup instructions or you can speak to an ITS Client Services representative at 212-998-3333.

PLEASE NOTE that the installation and use of personal wireless routers in NYU residence halls is not permitted. To ensure reliable access to NYURoam for all residents, any active personal routers that are detected within an NYU residence hall will be remotely disabled. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with your responsibilities as detailed in the NYU ResNet policy: http://www.nyu.edu/its/policies/resnet-policy.html.

Cable TV

NYU Cable TV service is provided, with one cable connection per bedroom, for access to national cable networks and special programming. Residents provide their own televisions and connecting.

Safety and security are everyone's responsibility, but this residence also has specific building security procedures:

All residents must present their NYU ID cards on entry.
All guests must be signed in and out by their resident host and leave picture ID at the guard station.

Report maintenance concerns to the NYU Client Services Center by filling in a work order form, which can be found at http://www.nyu.edu/fcm/workrequestform/ . In addition, you may email the Client Services Center at contactcsc@nyu.edu or you may call the CSC at 212-998-1001. The Client Services Center is open Mon - Fri 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sat - Sun 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Except University Holidays). Service requests should be reported at the first sign of a problem. If there is damage in your room, do not repair it yourself. Skilled repair personnel will fix it for you. Preventative maintenance and routine repairs are done without charge, though you will be billed for any damage caused by your negligence or actions. Emergency repairs include major leaks and flooding, inoperative door locks, and any problem that endangers safety or property. In case of an emergency, contact the reception desk or any member of the residence hall staff immediately.

Shipping packages before arrival: Do not send boxes or packages for arrival at your residence hall before you check in. You may pick them up, at the front desk, the same day a package notice is placed in your mail box.

Storage

Storage space in student rooms is limited (usually just a small closet, dresser, and under bed space), so don't overdo, and coordinate bringing large items with your roommates where possible. There is no storage space outside of student rooms during the year for suitcases, trunks, or boxes.

Furnishings
Each room is furnished with a twin bed, desk, desk chair, and storage space for clothing for each student. Personal furniture may not be added. If a student requests or requires special furniture to accommodate a disability, please contact the Residence Hall Director.
