Welcome!

Welcome to Carlyle Court! You can find us at the great location of 25 Union Square West, overlooking Union Square Park. Carlyle consists of three apartment buildings housing 740 primarily sophomore residents. The three apartment buildings are built around a large, tree-filled courtyard, a nice place for residents to enjoy the outdoors. Carlyle also has a large music practice/dance room supplied with a piano, a comfortable and newly renovated study lounge, and a community TV lounge for residents’ use. In addition to our excellent facilities, Carlyle has many programmatic opportunities as well. We have two live-in faculty members who do programming (Kristin Horton and Lorena Llosa) , an Explorations floor (Food for Thought), a student-run hall government, and 15 Resident Assistants who will spend the year providing ways for residents to get out and enjoy NYC. We look forward to your stay here!

The professional staff consists of a Residence Hall Director (RHD), Residence Hall Assistant Director (RHAD) and a Residence Hall Resource Manager (RHRM) all who have offices in either the Residential Life and Hosuing Services Office or the Resource Center. All staff living in the hall serve as amazing resources to residents and work hard to help build strong communities on all floors and throughout the entire building.

Hello! My name is Marissiko "Koko" Wheaton and I am the Residence Hall Director at Carlye Court! I was born and raised in beautiful Los Angeles, California. After transferring from Santa Monica College, I completed my B.A. in Social Ecology from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) "Zot Zot!!". My undergraduate experience changed my life in so many ways and for that reason, I decided move to the east coast to pursue a Masters Degree in Higher Education/Student Personnel Administration from NYU. As a graduate student here at NYU, I worked in the Office of Student Activities as a club advisor and volunteered with the Center for Multicultural Education and Programs. Living and working at NYU and in NYC has been such an amazing opportunity and I look forward to new experiences with the NYU community every day. I am so proud to be a part of the Carlyle Court staff. We're a hard working but spirited bunch and we love to have fun! Make sure to take advantage of all that we have to offer. If you have questions or just want to stop by to say "hi", my door is always open.

I'm Priscilla Williams, the resource center manager here at Carlyle Court. Born and bred in Brooklyn, New York, I have been here at BOTH Carlyle Court and N.Y.U for over 15 years. I've seen this area, as well this building evolve. Before coming here my background has been diverse: assistant supervisor in the customer service division at Time Warner Cable, medical malpractice submission processor at Aetna insurance, handled end of trading day stock transactions at Goldman Sachs, worked in the data processing department of E.P.Dutton, a publishing company. As you see, I have a lot of work and life experience to draw from and share.

When I do have some ME time, I relax by knitting, reading, bike riding, horseback riding, indoor rock climbing, traveling. I am a very active volunteer with several organizations (New York Road Runners, The Mayor's Alliance for Animals, New York Cares, The Achilles Club). I am a passionate New Yorker and love the energy of the city!

I'm known for my knowledge of N.Y.U and N.Y.C, quick wit, and out-going nature. If you need assistance or just want to stop by and say "Hello", I look forward to meeting you!

Welcome! My name is Shannon Riley and I am the Residence Hall Assistant Director of Carlyle Court. Originally from Great Neck, Long Island, I moved to the city in 2002 to attend NYU as an undergraduate and graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Music (Vocal Performance). After graduation, I worked professionally as a singer and actress only to realize that my true love was education. My journey lead me back to NYU where I began working in the office of Residential Life and Housing Services and earned my Master of Arts degree in Educational Theater for Colleges and Communities. I love to sing, listen to music, and watch movies. On my free time you will see me at the Washington Square dog park with my 8 month old puppy Griffin. Please stop by the RHAD office on the 2nd floor of the C3 tower to find out information, sign up for programming or just hang out. I am looking forward to a great academic year and to meeting all of the residents at Carlyle Court!
