  • Free NYU shuttle bus with late night service from building to Washington Square, or from Washington Square to other residence halls. See Bus Routes and Schedules.
  • Two blocks from Astor Place subway station for the 6 line. Three blocks from 8th St. and Broadway station for N & R lines.

Welcome to Alumni Hall!  Located in the heart of East Village, Alumni Hall is a dynamic and diverse community that approximately 450 upperclass residents – mostly sophomores; and twelve Resident Assistants call home. We share most of our programs and our staff with our East Village neighbors in 7th Street Hall, or as we call it, The 7APartnership.

There are plenty of activities to get involved with at Alumni. The7A Partnership Hall Council is another great opportunity that allows you to become a leader in the community, by either running for elected office or serving as a floor representative.

Throughout the academic year, Hall Council plans a variety ofprograms for the buildings and it is an excellent way for residents to get to know one another and perhaps, learn something new!  In addition to Hall Council activities, there are plenty of other programs planned by the staff, including a variety of diversity and educational-based programs.

We hope that you will join us this year and get to know one another by exploring NYU, the East Village and the surrounding areas!

The professional staff consists of a Residence Hall Director (RHD), Residence Hall Assistant Director (RHAD) and a Residence Hall Resource Manager (RHRM) all who have offices in either the Residential Life and Hosuing Services Office or the Resource Center. All staff living in the hall serve as amazing resources to residents and work hard to help build strong communities on all floors and throughout the entire building.

Hello there! I am thrilled to serve this year as the Residence Hall Director for the 7A Partnership - the Green House at 7th Street and Alumni Hall. This will be my fifth year in NYU's residence life program, and I'm very excited to work with the great staff here. I grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota where I went to college at the University of St. Thomas. While there I studied philosophy and learned about the great works of Nietzsche. I also became heavily involved in student government, the Residence Hall Association (RHA), and the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH). All this led me to move to New York where I received a Master's degree at NYU in Higher Education/Student Personnel Administration. When I'm not in the office I tend to gravitate toward video games, Ultimate disc, and philosophical debates. I also make a lot of spreadsheets for fun.

Our fantastic staff will be bringing innovative programs, creating new ideas, and reinvigorating some old school traditions. I hope you take the opportunity to stop by a hall council meeting, follow us on Twitter, read our blog, or stop by the resource center. It's going to be an incredible year and I'm hoping you will join us for the ride!

Welcome to the 7A Partnership! I began working at NYU in the fall of 2011 and have really enjoyed my experience as an RHAD thus far. I am originally from Richmond, Virginia, but I have also lived in Maryland, Florida, and Ohio. I completed my undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech where I received a Bachelor's degree in Economics. While I was at Virginia Tech I worked as an RA for 3 years. The experience of being an RA was by far my favorite part of college. My excitement for working with residential students led me to pursue a Master's degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University. When I'm not working I enjoy exercising, cooking, watching reality TV, and exploring the many neighborhoods of NYC. I cannot wait to meet all of you and look forward to getting to know each of you this year!

Hello! My name is Theresa Janczewski and I am the Resource Manager at Alumni Hall. I was born and raised in Williamsburg, Brooklyn to a very large family. I love working in Manhattan, especially the trendy and hip area that surrounds the campus of NYU. If I am not at the front desk you can usually find me roaming the streets of the East Village, finding the next best shops. Back in Williamsburg I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening when the weather is nice and taking care of my many pets, which include: a Boston Terrier named Molly and two stray cats I have adopted, Tommy and Red.

I have had over 13 years of experience at NYU - 7 of those years at Hayden Hall and 6 years at U Hall - where I have made both lasting memories and life-long friendships with the staff and residents. I am always happy to help, so please come see me at the Resource Center if you have any questions or just to come by to say, 'hello'; I look forward to meeting all the new faces at the 7A Partnership, and I am excited to share my experiences with my coworkers. My goal is to make the Resource Center your home away from home!
