Fall Welcome Week

Fall Welcome Week 2013 kicks off on Sunday, August 25th with NYU Welcome Day and continues on through Friday, August 30th.  Throughout the week there are a series of programs and featured events. 

Overall, the week boasts over 300 programs that cover a multitude of topics from getting involved and learning about NYU, to staying safe and navigating public transportation.  New students receive access to sign-up for Welcome Week programs using our unique Welcome Week scheduling program for which information is disseminated during the summer.

NYU Welcome Day / Move-In Day

This day complements Residence Hall Move-In with a Parent Welcome and Information Fair. New undergraduate students and their family members are invited to stop by the Kimmel Center for refreshments, information, and to meet representatives from various NYU offices and organizations, and students can pick up their NYU ID.  Read more »»

Presidential Welcome and Reality Show: NYU

Join President Sexton, fellow new undergraduate students, alumni, and university officials at The Beacon Theater for the Presidential Welcome. Immediately following will be The Reality Show: NYU -- a gritty, funny musical about the lives of NYU students as they experience an array of confounding, confusing, and exciting issues. The Reality Show: NYU is written, performed, and produced by NYU students, and directed by Tisch School of the Arts professor Elizabeth Swados.

NYU Portraits: Voices of a People

Voices of a People offers an innovative approach to highlighting the importance of diversity as an enriching and transformative experience for our incoming freshmen and transfer students. NYU Portraits will illuminate the voices from our communities and history. Through public expression, the visionaries, the rebels, and dissenters from our past, present and future are revealed through powerful and thought-provoking featured performers. Creating a vibrant and colorful evening using the style, energy and aesthetics of Hip-Hop, history comes to life to invigorate our present and inspire a new generation of students seeking knowledge about diversity, social justice, and community service.
