Welcome Week

What is Welcome Week and Spring at the Square?

Your journey at NYU begins here!  Our 'Welcome' programs occur at the start of both the Fall and Spring semesters and are intended for new first year, transfer and visiting students.  Both programs offer variety of workshops, receptions, and fun events designed to welcome and introduce students to New York University, its programs and services, and of course New York City.  During these weeks there are plenty of opportunities to meet lots of other new students, find out ways to get involved, prepare for your time at Washington Square, and navigate this exciting new place.  Concerned about finding your way or getting involved?  Not to worry!  We have a number of staff and student volunteers who are available to help you make the most of your time here and learn all you want to know about NYU and NYC!

When does Fall Welcome Week start?

Welcome Week kicks off on Sunday, August 26th with NYU Welcomes You and continues on through Friday, August 31st.  Throughout the week there are a series of programs and featured Marquee events, such as The Presidential Welcome and Reality Show.  We'll have plenty of entertaining and informative programs throughout the week -- to learn more about our program offerings, check out our marquee event listings and program preview guide on our List of Events page.
