Ticket Central is always searching for the lowest prices on tickets available in large quantities so that we can resell them to the NYU community. Ticket Central neither subsidizes the cost of the tickets to provide a discount to customers, nor do we inflate the price of the tickets to make a profit. The price of tickets reflects the actual cost of the ticket, plus $2.00 to cover the cost of shipping and handling that the venue charges us to obtain the tickets and to help defray the expense of the student cashiers and technology needed to sell these tickets to NYU students and staff. The amount of tickets that Ticket Central obtains from ticket vendors for each offer is based on many factors, such as the popularity of the show within the NYU community, the number of discounted tickets the venue provides, and the price of the tickets. We enforce a ticket limit to ensure that all of the customers who wish to buy tickets have a fair chance of purchasing them.
Many of our ticket prices reflect a significant discount from the original retail price. However, for popular shows that tend to sell out quickly, Ticket Central purchases and sells tickets at retail value as a service to the NYU community. Tickets are distributed to patrons in the order in which they were purchased online, with the first to purchase tickets receiving the best seats from the allotment of tickets.
The general area of seating for the tickets your purchased is indicated on your email confirmation, if the information is available to us at the time of your purchase. You will not know your exact seat locations until you pick up your tickets.
We are able to fulfill over 99% of our orders of 2 or more tickets with adjacent seats. In the unlikely event that the venue has allotted us tickets that prevent us from filling your order with adjacent seats, we will offer you a full refund of your order if you choose not to accept the tickets.
If you have a specific seating request - such as for an aisle seat, or for two orders to be seated together - you can email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will do our best to accommodate you.
You do not need to email us to request that seats be together in an order or two orders purchased by the same person.
In most cases, tickets purchased will not be available for pick-up until we email you to let you know that your tickets are in. Generally, tickets are available for pick-up 1-2 weeks before the event date. However, depending on the nature of the event and their box office staff, it may be the case that your tickets are not available until the week of the event.

Ticket Central charges a $5 per ticket resell fee for this service. We will charge you only if we are successful at reselling your tickets.

However, in most cases, the venue will only replace missing tickets if the patron can confirm the seat number/row/section on each ticket.
Therefore, it is good practice to always record this information (by writing it down or taking a photo of your tickets) as soon as you receive your tickets. Ticket Central does not keep a record of your seat locations and we cannot provide this information to you should your tickets become lost or stolen.
Anyone with a valid NYU ID or Alumni ID can purchase movie passes at NYU Box Office. A valid NYU ID or NYU Alumni ID must be presented at the box office upon purchase.
Anyone can use the discounted movie passes once they are purchased at NYU Box Office with a valid NYU ID or Alumni Card. You do not need to be present at the theater upon redemption. Yes! You can give them to friends, as gifts, etc.
Yes, the discount movie passes are valid wherever there are branches of the participating theater chains nationwide.
Discount movie passes are generally valid for all movies except for special engagements. However, some passes have restrictions on movies that have been recently released, or that are showing on certain days of the week. The higher the price of the pass, the less restrictions there are on it. The Ticket Central Movie Pass Menu has lists all of the restrictions associated with each pass.
A single movie pass can only be used once - for one movie ticket.
Prices of movie passes sold at Ticket Central reflect the cost of the pass plus a 6% - 9% surcharge which reflects the shipping and handling costs of obtaining these tickets from theater vendors, as well as to cover part of the expense of hiring cashiers to sell these tickets to NYU students and staff.
You will definitely save money if you purchase discounted movie passes! At minimum it costs $16.00 to see a movie in many theatres in Manhattan. The discount movie passes at Ticket Central range from $7.50-$8.50, plus an extra $1.00-$2.50 with surcharges in some cases. You do the math!
Some participating movie theater chains such as UA/Regal arequire you to pay a $1.50 surcharge at their box office when you redeem the passes at a Manhattan theatre.
There is usually no ticket limit on the amount of discount movie passes that a customer can purchase. However, for orders of 20 or more, we suggest that you fill out and submit a movie pass group order form. We cannot guarantee immediate availability on orders of 50 or more passes - so please order early!
