Serials check-in with 2 copies in
ADVANCE 6.8


  • Find out which Type of Holding needs to be deleted.
    (When you find out… It is suggested that in the check in record you change the Type of Holdings 'Issues' to 'i', this way when you go to Type of Holdings you know which to delete.)
    make a listing of holdings you are about to delete - you will be adding these back in later

  • "Go to" "Type of holdings display" and Delete the incorrect or 'i' type of holding.

  • "Go to" "Locations display"-
    Are there 2 locations? And are they both linked to a Type of Holding? (most likely you will have to updat the record)

    If only 1 location - You need to add another location.
    1. In LOCATION COPY SUMMARY "Add item"
    2. Fill out lines 6,8,and 16 in the LOCATION COPY DETAIL
    3. When finished "File"

    Then link it to the 'Issues' Type of Holding. (Follow steps for two locations)

    If 2 locations - You need to link the location to the 'Issues' Type of Holding
    1. "Go to" "Serial copy display"
    2. In the SERIAL COPY SET SUMMARY select the "# item" of the location you need to link.
    3. In the SERIAL COPY SET DETAIL select "Type of holdings"
    4. This will take you to the LINKED TYPE OF HOLDING where you will "Link" the type of holding the the correct location. There should be only one type of holding for type... Issues, micro, etc.
    5. Select the "# item" that you want in the LINK TYPE OF HOLDING TO COPY SET screen.
    6. Then "File"
  • Go back to check in and add the deleted issues. You have to go to each box and go to line 5 and location add. Make sure you only link the bobst location.

    EACH TITLE WILL BE A LITTLE DIFFERENT.
