The Technical Services Department is part of the Division of Libraries at New York University. TSD is housed in Bobst Library on the B-Level. We process books, serials, scores, sound recordings, videos, CD-ROMs, electronic resources and almost anything else selected for the libraries with the exception of archival materials which are handled in another department. As well as different formats, these library materials come in a variety of languages and subjects. We also do some of the processing of materials for the libraries of three NYU institutes and our partners in the Research Library Association of South Manhattan (known as "The Consortium"): Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences; Institute of Fine Arts; Real Estate Institute; Cooper Union; New School for Social Research (including Parsons School of Design and Mannes College of Music). TSD comprises four units: Acquisitions; LC Copy Cataloging; Shared Copy Cataloging; and Original Cataloging.
