Eileen Myles career spans both the Soho and East Village scene. During the height of the East Village scene, she was director of the St. Mark's Poetry Project. While there, she reached out to many of the downtown artists and writers, opening up the Project to new and different voices. She also sponsored one evening of performance poetry each week. She continues to write and recently produced her new book, Chelsea Girls.
