Subseries A: Legal Records
Subseries B: Financial Records

The legal records in Subseries A include numerous drafts of Elizabeth Robins's wills over the years 1881-1932, the license for her 1885 marriage to George R. Parks and title deeds to her Florida property. Tenancy agreements for Backsettown record the names of some of the people who lived on the property. There are also literary contracts for The Open Question (firm of William Heinemann, 1898), Ibsen and the Actress (The Hogarth Press, 1928) and Theatre and Friendship (G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1932). Among Robins's property inventories is a listing of the books in her personal library. Finally, there are four of her passports (1918, 1922, 1925 and 1927) and correspondence relating to travel and residency.

Subseries B provides a record of Robins's financial history from 1894-1951. Through bank books, securities records and income tax reports it is possible to determine the various sources of her income. The royalty statements (folders 3-7) give an indication of the level of financial success her literary works achieved.
