NYU's Supercomputer, Max

The fastest computer in New York City and the 117th fastest in the world is at NYU. Installed in 2005, Max takes up 30 square feet and can perform 4.5 trillion operations per second using 512 2.2 Ghz processors. The new system, which supports NYU research with heavy computational requirements, is also the first supercomputer in the United States using Ipv6, the next generation Internet protocol.
