founded to offer graduate business instruction in the Wall Street

The United States enters World War I, causing NYU
enrollment to substantially decline from 789 students at University
Heights campus in February 1917 to 238 civilian students by October

Detachment/ Students Army Training Corps at NYU. |

Dec 20: The School of Retailing created,
offering business courses in retail management.
School of Pedagogy renamed School of Education.

New York College of Dentistry merges with NYU to
