| Reiss's
images, while chiefly shot for labor unions, were
not always necessarily about these
organizations--they covered a broader spectrum of
subjects. Many of his photo stories, even those
shot at the behest of unions, documented subjects
other than the unions themselves. Represented
here are images ranging from people at work, to
children in school, welfare recipients, civil
rights leaders, and prominent politicians and
celebrities such as Eleanor Roosevelt, Martin
Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy, and U Thant,
and Leonard Bernstein. |
