In November, more than 125 students occupy the University Placement Services Office, forcing Dow Chemical, the producers of napalm, to call off schedules interviews.

History department Professor Bob Wolfe, assistant Dean Elsa Robinson, & Conor Cruise O’Brien are among those faculty & administrators who speak to the demonstrators in support of their actions. Harold Whiteman, assistant chancellor for student affairs, charges the students with "obstructing the normal operations" of the placement office and threatens them with disciplinary action.
