All requests must be made 3-4 weeks in advance!
A few notes on requesting a Safe Zone Training:
1) Requested Safe Zones must have a guaranteed attendance for a minimum of 15 participants and a maximum of 35 participants. We suggest that you set-up some type of sign-up system before the training making sure you will have 15 people attend.
2) Safe Zones must be requested no later than 3-4 weeks prior to the desired training date.
3) For trainings targeted toward staff, Safe Zone training must be OPTIONAL attendance-- meaning we cannot do a training during a staff meeting or continuing education time slot. We want participants to attend the training on their own will and interest to maintain a open learning environment.
4) There is no negotiation of the time length of Safe Zone and we cannot break the training up into sections. We designed the 3-hour training with the idea that activities build upon each other and we must keep the consistency of your trainings.
5) Requestors are responsible for advertising, location and any snacks for the training. It would be preferred (although not required) for requestors to supply training supplies such as flipchart paper, nametags and markers. The LGBT Office will bring all other additional training materials.
