On September 26, Tuscan-American Association honored Director Ellyn M. Toscano with an Award for her contributions between institutions and the community through La Pietra Dialogues and The Season, at the Students's Welcome Day, at Palazzo Vecchio.

About

Villa La Pietra is the outstandanding historical villa and home of the New York University Florence program. Bequeathed to NYU in 1994 by Sir Harold Acton, the Florentine study abroad campus consists of 5 historic villas and 57 acres of gardens and olive groves. Villa La Pietra, the Acton Collection, and the Garden are maintained as they were by the Acton family and serve as an inspiration to all who live and study on the campus.


Samurai! Exhibition in Florence
Villa La Pietra NYU Florence and the Stibbert Museum in the occasion of the Samurai Exhibit at Museo Stibbert, Villa La Pietra with the support of the Stibbert Musum itself, will be conserving a rare 17th c. Japanese suit of armor from the Acton Collection that will soon be on display inside the villa. In return, Villa La Pietra is offering free guided tours to ticket holders, by reservation.
