Kimmel Center | Reservable Spaces | Affiliated Policy

Many New York University schools, departments, and faculty work very closely with professional organizations that are Non-NYU organizations but have a close affiliation.

The fee categories that the Kimmel Center operates from have been defined by The Guidelines for the Use of University Facilities that do not address these important University affiliations. In order to favorably support affiliated organizations Kimmel Operations has established a third category of fees that takes into account the important relationship between NYU and other organizations.

This new category will take effect on any new reservations for the spring and summer semesters and for all events falling into this category beginning September 1st, 2008.

  CRITERIA

Kimmel space is booked by a University school, academic department, or a faculty member for an event that is co-sponsored by an affiliated organization and that is directly related to the academic mission of the University and of the sponsoring department.

NYU Departmental Event
These events are organized and produced through the NYU department and the participants are 51% from the NYU community.

NYU Affiliated Organization Event
These events are booked and sponsored by an NYU school or department but are produced jointly by the organization and the NYU department and will have less than 51% attendance from the NYU community.
