Telephone Support Inquiries

For telephone service support inquiries, please call ITS Client Services at 83333 (1-212-998-3333 from off campus) and select option 2, or send email to telephone.service@nyu.edu.

Long distance service inquiries can be made to the CampusLink Service Center at 1-800-962-4772 or by visiting www.campuslink.paetec.com.

If you are having a problem with your telephone service, please keep in mind that the trouble can occur with the telephone set, the handset (receiver), the mounting or handset cords, or the service itself.

To troubleshoot connection issues:

• Make sure your telephone set is connected to the telephone jack, not the ResNet jack.
• Plug your telephone set into a working telephone jack in another room.
• If the telephone set still does not work properly, the problem is with the telephone set, handset, or cords and is not covered by ITS telephone service support.
• If the telephone set is working, please call ITS Client Services at 83333 (1-212-998-3333 from off campus) and select option 2, or send email to telephone.service@nyu.edu.

Broken Jacks

If your jack is physically damaged and needs to be repaired or replaced, call ITS Client Services at 83333 (1-212-998-3333 from off campus) and select option 2, or send email to telephone.service@nyu.edu. Please have the number on the jack’s label ready.

Annoyance Calls

If you receive harassing telephone calls, contact both NYU Public Safety at 82222 (1-212-998-2222 from off campus) and the Residential Assistant on duty. Public Safety and Residential Education can take the proper safety actions and provide any necessary protection services. For this reason, direct calls from residents to ITS will be referred to Public Safety and your residence hall. Public Safety and Residential Education will advise ITS on the appropriate action to take.
