NYU's Information Technology Services works in conjunction with the NYU Computer Store and NYU Purchasing Services' NYU Computer Purchase Program to provide resources for NYU community members looking to purchase one or more new computers. The Computer Purchase Program is only available to NYU staff and administrators, but this page also provides contact information for NYU faculty and students.
Information for NYU Staff & Administrators
Before You Buy
First, NYU staff and administrators should consult with their NYU department or division before making a computer purchase, so any specific requirements
can be accommodated.
NYU Purchasing Services has arranged pricing agreements with Dell, HP, and other vendors for desktop and laptop computers, for institutional purchases only; visit the Purchasing website for a current quote. For Apple purchases, please refer to the NYU Computer Store website for current pricing and custom configurations (available on request). NYU Purchasing also provides assistance if your department would prefer a brand other than those listed above. These and other agreements can be found on the NYU Purchasing website, where they are regularly updated.
After You Buy
ITS offers computer and network support in the use of University resources through the ITS Client Services Center. ITS also offers
enhanced on-site and telephone support services to NYU departments through a subscription service.
Staff and administrators from subscribing departments can contact ITS Computer Support Services staff through a dedicated phone number
and a dedicated email address. An annual fee per computer provides each subscriber with the priority services described at
www.nyu.edu/its/support/desktop/. Check with your department's computer support staff to see if your department has already subscribed.
If you need access to one or more of NYU's administrative computing systems, or if your computer needs repairs, please speak with the computer support staff in your department.
Information for NYU Faculty
Before You Buy
First, faculty should consult with their NYU school or division before making a computer purchase, so any specific requirements can be accommodated. You
should then consult the faculty resources available on the NYU Computer Store
website for current prices, discounts, custom configuration information, and payment options (click on "Faculty/Admin" in the left-hand menu).
After You Buy
ITS offers computer and network support in the use of University resources for University-purchased desktop computers through the
ITS Client Services Center. ITS also offers enhanced on-site and telephone support services to NYU departments
through a subscription service. Faculty from subscribing departments can contact ITS Computer Support Services staff through a dedicated phone number
and a dedicated email address. Our staff is on call to help you, so that you can devote more time to your work. An annual fee per

Information for NYU Students
Before You Buy
First, all NYU students should consult with their school or college before making a computer purchase so any specific requirements can be accommodated (see
School-Specific Recommendations, below).
Students should then use the NYU Computer Store website at http://www.bookstores.nyu.edu/computer.store/ as their primary resource before purchasing a new computer (click on "Students" in the left-hand menu). The website contains important information about school-specific computing requirements, along with helpful information about custom configuration options, current pricing, discounts, and payment options.
After You Buy
ITS offers computer and network support in the use of University resources through the ITS Client Services Center. If you live in an NYU residence hall,
you may be able to connect your computer to ResNet, the residential network; see http://www.nyu.edu/its/resnet/ for more information.
For computer repairs or help with your hardware or software, please contact the vendor(s) or the
NYU Computer Store; ITS does not offer these services.
