Individual Computer Support

The ITS Client Services Center provides individual computer support to NYU faculty, staff, administrators, and students in degree or diploma programs by phone, email, online, in-person, and through classes and workshops. Browse this website and our publications for information about the many services ITS offers; to troubleshoot a computer problem, see the Frequently Asked Questions section of this website. If you can't find the answer on our website, submit your question via the Ask ITS (Help Desk) page or call the ITS Client Services Center Helpline at 1-212-998-3333, open seven days a week (see www.nyu.edu/its/helpdesk/ for hours).

Desktop Computer Support for NYU Departments

ITS Client Services also offers enhanced on-site and telephone support services to NYU departments through our Desktop Support subscription service. Faculty and staff from subscribing departments can contact ITS Desktop Support Services through a dedicated phone number and email address. ITS SUDS: Keep Your Work Computer Clean!

ITS SUDS (Security Updates Delivery & Support) is an ITS subscription service for Windows computers combining automated delivery and installation of Symantec AntiVirus updates, related proactive anti-virus protection and support, and automatic download and installation of applicable critical operating system fixes and Windows security patches released by Microsoft. This helps ensure a high level of protection for SUDS-enrolled computers. For more information, see the Departmental Desktop Support page.

Systems Administration Services

ITS offers systems administration services, actively manages and maintains a continually increasing number of Local Area Network (LAN)-based departmental and school file servers—currently over 80 servers for more than 35 academic and administrative departments—and provides system support for the more than 4,000 desktop computers attached to these servers. ITS Communications & Computing Services provides consultation to many departments with LANs that are not directly supported by this service. Administrative Systems Support

ITS provides application development and support for NYU's core business systems, and IT helpdesk services for the NYU community members who use them. For more information on these and additional related services, see the Administrative Systems Support page.

Computer Purchasing Resources & Recommendations

NYU's Information Technology Services works in conjunction with the NYU Computer Store and NYU Purchasing Services' NYU Computer Purchase Program to provide resources for NYU staff and administrators looking to purchase one or more new computers.
