getting started
To assist NYU community members with understanding and using the Digital Studio's services, we have created the Project Assessment worksheet and the Tool Selection Chart. These resources will help you define your project and select the most appropriate services and tools to meet your project's goals.
Introduction
Welcome to the Digital Studio, NYU's gateway to digital services supporting scholarship and teaching. The Digital Studio, located on the fifth floor of Bobst Library, offers a collection of information technology services to faculty working on a wide range of instructional and research projects.
All NYU community members can visit the Digital Studio to use digital media equipment, receive assistance from Digital Studio lab assistants, and gain access to various supported technologies. The Studio is co-run by Faculty Technology Services (a department within NYU's Information Technology Services) and the Division of Libraries.
For more information, explore the rest of this site using the tabs above, or contact the Digital Studio using the information at the right.
Overview of Services
As you work on your projects, the Digital Studio staff is available to provide you with the following types of assistance. For more details, see the Digital Studio Tools & Services page.
Guidance
We provide many types of advice and consultation to guide projects, including help with planning projects, selecting the correct tools to achieve the project's goals, and following best practices in the use of new technology.
Hands-on Assistance
We can also help NYU community members use the various tools that we offer. For instance, we can demonstrate how to digitize video, use a learning management system such as Blackboard to create a course website, or use file management software to archive research documents.
