SAS

Site License Requirements & Costs

  • NYU-licensed copies of SAS software are available to NYU faculty, administrators, staff, and matriculated graduate students.
  • The expiration date for the license is August 31, regardless of the date of purchase.
  • There is an annual license/usage fee of $175.00 per computer—annual license renewal begins September 1.
  • Install the SAS software on ONLY ONE computer for every site-licensed copy you purchase, and pay the annual license fee to ITS every year.
  • Please note that all transactions are final.

How to Acquire SAS Software

  1. Fill out and submit the Software License Agreement form.
  2. ITS will process your form and contact you about providing you with the software.

SAS Versions Available

  • 9.1.3 for Windows
  • Please note: version 9.2 is scheduled for release on June 1, 2008.

SPSS

Each academic year, the University obtains a license for the use of Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) by qualified NYU community members.

In response to feedback from our Faculty, NYU has updated our SPSS Licensing Service to include more flexible installation options and soon the ability to purchase SPSS securely with an authorized credit card.

ITS is pleased to announce the availability of SPSS 16 for Windows and Macintosh. Clients holding a current license for SPSS may get the latest software upgrade at no additional charge; simply contact ITS Client Services with your current authorization code. Clients wishing to purchase new licenses may use the request form below.

SPSS Site License Requirements & Costs

  • New Licenses Are Available for the Academic Year 2007-2008.
  • The license expiration date for the license is August 31, regardless of the date of purchase.
  • NYU-licensed copies of SPSS software are available to NYU faculty, administrators, or staff.*
  • There is an annual license/usage fee of $250.00 per computer—annual license renewal begins at the start of the Fall semester.
  • Annual license/usage entitles licensees to software upgrades whenever they are available.
  • When purchased for individual use, a single authorization code allows the software to be installed on two machines per individual. For example, one may use the same authorization code for an individual's desktop and laptop or office and home computers.
  • When 10 or more site-license copies are purchased for use in labs or lab environments, a bulk discount of 25.00 off of each site-license copy is available. Please indicate in the Comments field of the Software License Agreement form that this is for "Lab Use" to qualify for the discount.**
  • Please note that all transactions are final.

*This license does not cover distribution to students. Students can purchase a copy of SPSS at the NYU Computer Store.

** The two machine per authorization code does not apply to lab or multi-user work and research environments.

Amos

ITS is pleased to announce the availability of Amos. Amos is a powerful, easy-to-use structural equation modeling (SEM) software program that enables you to create more realistic models than if you used standard multivariate statistics or multiple regression models alone. You can easily incorporate Amos into your SPSS workflow.

  • NYU-licensed copies of Amos software are available to NYU faculty, administrators, or staff.*
  • The expiration date for the license is August 31, regardless of the date of purchase.
  • There is an annual license/usage fee of $125.00 per computer-annual license renewal begins September 1.
  • Annual license/usage entitles licensees to software upgrades whenever they are available.
  • Install the software on ONLY ONE computer for every site-licensed copy you purchase, and pay the annual license fee to ITS every year.
  • Please note that all transactions are final.
