Notes on Private Consultation

Our list of graduate and student consultants is provided as a service to the New York University community to provide a pool of talent for researchers and instructors in need of assistance. Another purpose is to provide students interested in learning about research and/or teaching with the opportunity to obtain on-the-job training. It helps students in need of financial assistance. Finally, on the basis of a record of reliable, responsible, and competent assistance, the student may earn references and learn about future opportunities in research and/or teaching.

Students who seek assistance from persons on this list should first discuss with their instructors the appropriateness of enlisting such assistance. In this way, compliance with accepted academic standards of propriety may be upheld. Under no circumstances are these assistants to engage in activities in violation of academic ethics. Financial and scheduling arrangements are to be made between the researcher and the prospective assistant. Persons of all levels of statistical and computing capability have been included on this list. Prospective employers should interview candidates carefully and/or contact Frank LoPresti (see below) for more information about qualifications for specific projects. Persons who wish their names and numbers to be included on this list should contact Frank LoPresti at frank.lopresti@nyu.edu or 212-998-3398.
