ITS Academic Technology Centers, located at 14 Washington Place and at 35 W. 4th Street, offer specialized and advanced technology resources and assistance for your course-related work and research. These include high-end Macintosh and Windows systems, laser printers, DVD drives and related equipment, a wide variety of up-to-date software, high-speed connections to the Internet, and NYURoam wireless access. Additional resources at the two large, modern technology centers include flatbed scanners; audio, video, and image editing; web and print publishing; and staff to assist students in the use of the labs and other ITS resources. Automatic Call Distribution (ACD), Call Management System (CMS)

Call Center services allow a department to manage incoming telephone calls more effectively through call routing, queuing, and resource selection capabilities. CMS is a Windows-only desktop software application that allows Call Center managers to access reports related to their Call Center from their office computer. C&CS administers user permissions to the system, maintains firewall records, engages in troubleshooting and provides ongoing support for report interpretation.

eProcurement

PeopleSoft eProcurement is the system through which all purchasing requests (requisitions) are created and approved in NYUAD. This online requisition entry system is accessible by faculty and staff throughout NYUAD and replaces the legacy paper-based process. This module integrates with the Purchasing (Purchase Order) PeopleSoft module. Once a requester enters a requisition, it is approved by the approver(s), budget checked to ensure funds availability, and then routed to the Purchasing module, operated by the Procurement team, who will convert the requisition into a Purchase Order. Then you go to any ITS Print Station at any ITS Academic Technology Center or CoLab; swipe your NYUCard (or, optionally, a Bobst Library Print Card); and print your document on the adjacent printer. All applications that use Single Sign-On (SSO)—where you sign in once and have seamless access to other SSO-enabled application—leverage LDAP Authentication. Network Connections (Data and Voice)

ITS provides wired network connections throughout NYU (in offices, labs, classrooms, and public spaces) for on-campus local area networks (LANs), campus-wide wide area networks (WAN), and access to the Internet (both general and high-speed research networks). Departments can place orders for installations, moves, and changes to these connections. ITS works with NYU’s Facilities and Construction Management unit in networking new or renovated space and is responsible for installation, activation, and maintenance of data jacks across the campus including NYU offices, facilities, and residence halls.

NYU Classes

NYU Classes is the new learning management system at NYU. NYU Classes has the features you've come to expect from Blackboard, enabling NYU faculty to use the Web to enhance classroom instruction and encourage blended learning models. Instructors can use NYU Classes to create full-featured, online course environments for the members of their class to provide content sharing, collaborative capabilities, assignment and other assessment tools as well as Gradebook functionality. Authorized community members can access the system via the NYUHome Academics tab).

The majority of the university will have transitioned to NYU Classes by January 2013, with additional courses coming online in the summer in anticipation for NYU Blackboard’s retirement on August 15, 2013.

NYU CoLabs, located at the Kimmel Center, 4th floor and 75 Third Avenue, level C, are technology centers designed for student collaboration. You can use a public computer or bring your own, and work individually or with others. In addition to NYURoam wireless access, the CoLabs offer public computers (dual-boot Mac and Windows) with web browsers, Microsoft Office software, and high-speed connections to Internet resources; laser printers; and areas for individual and collaborative work. NYU CoLabs are generally unstaffed, but help is available via a help line phone in each location, or online chat with a ITS staff member (instructions available on site). Owners of content can choose to keep content private, share to the NYU community, or categorize content within a school or department, all within NYU Stream. Owners of content can also choose to post a link to the file you create to a NYU Blackboard class (faculty only) or any other website to which you have publishing rights.
