NetID & University ID
To connect to the Internet, NYU email, NYUHome,
Library resources, and many other online NYU resources, you
will need to activate your NYU NetID (Network IDentifier) and
create a password. To do so:
- Connect to the ITS Start page at http://start.nyu.edu/.
- Enter your NetID. Your NetID is usually printed on the back of your NYUCard. If you do not know your NetID, follow the instructions on the ITS Start page to determine what it is.
- Follow the steps on the ITS Start page to activate your NetID and create your password.*
- Follow the instructions in the NYUHome section of
this guide to access the NYUHome portal for the first time.
*Note that you will need to know your University ID number
to complete this process. Your University ID is printed on the
back of your NYUCard and starts with the letter N. If you
have problems or questions, please call the ITS Client
Services Center at 1-212-998-3333 or visit one of the
ITS Computer Labs.
NYU Campus Cable
The Division of Libraries has installed a private cable
television system, known as Campus Cable, to serve NYU
student residence halls and public spaces. Tune in for
a diverse lineup of channels that includes national cable
television networks, local broadcast stations, and the
NYU-TV Network. For your channel lineup, go to www.
nyu.edu/nyutv/ and click on the Campus Cable menu.
NYUHome
NYUHome is a service for NYU students, faculty, and staff
that provides information and facilitates collaboration and
communication. It is a highly customizable portal to many
web-based services and tools, including your NYU email,
Albert, Blackboard, online file storage, forums,
campus events, Library research tools, your own personal
web page, software and instructions, and more. The
latest version of NYUHome features a new "Ask ITS" area,
providing one convenient location for you to request help
from ITS, learn about important security and technology
news, download helpful software, and access instructions
on how to connect to various NYU electronic resources.

How to Access NYUHome
To access NYUHome for the first time, activate your NetID
and set your password, then follow the instructions below
to activate your service.
- Open a browser such as Firefox.
- Go to http://home.nyu.edu/.
- Log in using your activated NetID and password.
- Access your email, Blackboard classes, NYU Libraries
resources, Albert, and more.
To access NYUHome once your service has been activated,
go to http://home.nyu.edu/ and log in with your NYU NetID
and password.
NYUHome Stations
ITS provides NYUHome stations (public computers) at many
locations around campus where you can check your email, log
into Albert and Blackboard, access the many services available
in NYUHome, and browse the Web. A partial listing of
NYUHome station locations is included below, but be sure
to check www.nyu.edu/its/homestations/ for the most
current information.

NYU-NET
NYU-NET is NYU's campus-wide network of computers,
computer-related equipment, and information resources
that connects NYU community members to each other and
the Internet. For information about connecting to NYU-NET
resources via ResNet, NYURoam Wireless, NYU DIAL,
or an outside Internet Service Provider (ISP), and for a copy
of Symantec AntiVirus, Ad-Aware, and other software, visit
the new Ask ITS area in NYUHome (http://home.nyu.edu/).

NYU-TV
The NYU-TV Network consists of three channels dedicated
to serving the information, education, and entertainment
needs of the NYU community. Watch the University Channel
(NYU-TV, Ch. 14) for student productions, programming, and
curriculum-related films and videos. Check out the Movie
Channel (NYU-TV, Ch. 15) for blockbusters, indies, and film
classics. The Happenings Channel (NYU-TV, Ch. 16) is your
resource for events on campus, and you can listen to WNYU
