DIAL Modem Connections
ITS provides dial-up access to NYU-NET from your modem equipped computer. To use NYU DIAL service, plug your computer into an active telephone jack and configure the modem to dial 1-212-253-4NYU (1-212-253-4698).Use your activated NetID and password to log in. Detailed configuration instructions are available at www.nyu.edu/its/nyunet/dial/ and on the NYU-NET CD. There is no charge for this service beyond the cost of the phone call. If you live in an NYU-owned residence hall, you should use NYU ResNet service instead of DIAL. See also www.nyu.edu/its/nyunet/ for other methods of connecting to NYU's campus-wide network.

  • The Directory channel in NYUHome (http://home.nyu.edu/)
  • NYU's new 24-hour Voice Activated Directory: Dial 1-212-998-1212 and select option 1 (currently offers faculty and staff listings only)
  • The University switchboard (8:00am-7:00pm, M-F): Dial 0 when on-campus, 1-212-998-1212 when off-campus
If you are a student and wish to opt in or out of the Directory, or if you need to make a change to your current Directory listing, visit the ITS Start page (http://start.nyu.edu/), enter your NYU NetID and password, then click the "NYU Online Student Directory" link and follow the instructions.

Disabilities Services

Bobst Library provides assistance using the library for students with disabilities. Two adaptive technology rooms on Lower Level 1 provide computers that read text aloud, magnify print, and facilitate "hands-free" computing. For information, call 1-212-998-2519 or visit http://library.nyu.edu/services/disabilities.html.

ITS has wheelchair-accessible workstations at the Multimedia Center, the Third Avenue Center, and the Tisch Hall Lab (see the Computer Labs section for hours and locations). The ITS Multimedia Center also provides an adaptive technology project room with a screen reader system, and voice recognition, text to speech, and visual organizing software. In addition, computer workstations throughout all four ITS labs have built-in assistive technologies. If you have questions about using these resources, please contact the ITS Multimedia Center at 1-212-998-3421 or visit www.nyu.edu/its/assistive/.
