Accounts
Please note that certain ITS facilities and services for you and your students require you to apply for a special account.

See www.nyu.edu/its/accounts/ for application forms and more information.

Albert
Albert, the University's online student information system that provides class listings, grades, and financial aid information, is accessible through the Home tab of NYUHome (http://home.nyu.edu/).

Alerting Services, Tables of Contents, RSS Feeds
Alerting services help you keep current. They provide email or RSS notifications of newly published research, journal tables of contents, and other types of information based on your criteria. Speak with your subject librarian if you have questions. More information, including a partial list of available alerting services, can be found at http://library.nyu.edu/research/alerting/.

Ask-a-Librarian
Ask-a-Librarian is the Libraries' virtual reference desk where you can ask a question using an email reference service 24/7 by completing a simple web form. A librarian will respond within four hours. You can also see if we are online via our new Instant Messenger (IM) service and text your question directly to our screen name, AskBobst, to get immediate help. Find Ask-a-Librarian at http://library.nyu.edu/ask/.

The Avery Fisher Center for Music & Media
The Avery Fisher Center for Music & Media (AFC) on the 2nd floor of Bobst Library is one of the largest academic media centers in the world. Its collections include more than 14,000 videos, 38,000 CDs, 20,000 LPs, and 3,300 DVDs. The Center provides carrels for individual and group listening and viewing.

Use BobCat to locate materials in the AFC collection. NYU faculty, PhD students, and graduate students who teach* can borrow videos (tape, DVD, and laserdiscs) and sound recordings from the AFC. Details and a form for scheduling video loans in advance are at http://library.nyu.edu/afc/faculty.html.

* Please note: Graduate students who teach must have their teaching status indicated as GTA in the library's patron database to be eligible to borrow media on their accounts from the Avery Fisher Center. This is typically taken care of by the academic department. Stop by the Circulation Desk at
Bobst to be sure your GTA status has been noted. For more information, see http://library.nyu.edu/services/GTA.html.
