Users of New York University phone service are subject to the fraud, abuse, and harassment provisions of State and Federal communications law as well as applicable University policy.
In order to make long distance calls from a University telephone you will be provided with a Personal Billing Number (PBN).
The Personal Billing Number is for your use only. If you supply it to others you will still be responsible for the charges incurred. By using the PBN to make telephone calls, you agree to pay for the service and to abide by the terms and conditions described in ITS Guide to Telephone Services & ResNet and on the ITS Telephones & Voice Mail website. Treat your PBN like a credit card; keep it secure and out of sight.
Unauthorized use of a PBN is fraud, a criminal offense under state and federal laws.
If you received harassing telephone calls, notify your RA, GA, or Resident Hall manager at once. Residents in 240 Mercer Street and D'Agostino Hall should notify the Law School Office of Residential Life (1-212-998-6510.)
NYU Housing and NYU Protection Services will be alerted. Protection Services will investigate the complaint. Housing, in cooperation with Protection Services, will advise ITS Communications & Computing Services to take appropriate action.
