Software at NYU (www.nyu.edu/its/software) offers a variety of computer security and productivity software to support your academic and professional needs, including VPN, Symantec Endpoint Protection anti-virus, ITS Print Service software, and more.

Printing at Bobst Now Compatible with
the ITS Print Service

You can now use your ITS Print Service grant with the printers located throughout Bobst Library. Previously, printing at Bobst required a second account. As part of the ITS Print Service, NYU students are given $50 worth of printing credit each semester (500 pages) and faculty receive $5 (50 pages). Keep Up to Date with NYU Network
and Service Maintenance and Alerts

You can keep track of maintenance and outages affecting ITS-supported online services via the IT Service Status page at www.nyu.edu/its/status/. The page tracks both scheduled maintenance as well as emergency outages that may impact the NYU community. On that page, you can also subscribe to email alerts to stay up-to-date with NYU network and service status.

Financial Reporting Transitioning
From Brio to UDW+

Financial reporting will transition from Brio to UDW+ as of October 31st, 2013. Any current Brio users will no longer be able to access Brio Financial Standard Reports or Brio Financial Ad Hoc Reports after October 31st. If you are a financial Brio user, please be sure to complete the necessary UDW+ training and gain access to UDW+ as soon as possible to ensure you are not negatively impacted by financial reporting challenges.

Make the Most of NYURoam Wireless:
Update Your Wireless Card Driver

To optimize the stability and speed of your connection to the NYURoam wireless network, be sure to keep your laptop or device's wireless card software up to date. To do so, visit the wireless card's manufacturer's website and install the latest drivers.

IT Service Desk Support & Self Help

The IT Service Desk is available 24x7x365 to assist the entire NYU community with their IT support questions by phone and email. See www.nyu.edu/its/askits/helpdesk for contact information at each of NYU's global locations. In addition, you can find step-by-step instructions and answers to frequently asked questions about ITS-supported services and facilities in the ServiceLink knowledge base.

Training & Workshops

ITS training sessions and workshops (www.nyu.edu/its/training) are available on a variety of topics, including NYU Google Apps for Education, NYU Classes, NYURoam wireless, NYU Wikis, and (in collaboration with the Libraries) statistics, mapping, and survey software.

The Libraries also offer an extensive set of workshops, classes, and tours on Library resources and tools. Visit http://library.nyu.edu/classes for details and to register.

In addition, NYU staff and administrators can access a growing number of classes and instructional courses via NYUiLearn. There are many courses available covering a wide range of topics, such as Using Social Media Successfully at NYU (TEC 015). To register, visit the NYUHome Work tab (http://home.nyu.edu/work) and click the NYUiLearn Login button. In NYUiLearn's left navigation menu, click Course Catalog, then scroll down the list of courses to browse your options and register.

Academic Technology Services & Digital Studio Workshops

Academic Technology Services and the NYU Digital Studio will be offering Student Workshops throughout the semester. The Student Workshops will focus on the use of NYU Google Apps from the student perspective, and offer students an opportunity to ask questions, discuss projects, and discover tools to make their NYU life a bit easier. Faculty Friday Workshops

Academic Technology Services and the NYU Digital Studio will be offering Faculty Friday Workshops throughout the semester. The Workshops will focus on the use of NYU Google Apps in teaching and learning, and offer faculty an opportunity to ask questions and discuss projects with Academic Technology Specialists.
