On Friday, October 1st, ITS will be making a small change to the NYU-NET DNS servers in order to improve security. This change will NOT affect the vast majority of NYU community members. However, a very small number of people who have set up their computers with hard-coded DNS settings will temporarily be unable to connect to the Internet from outside of the NYU-NET network after this change is made.
If you experience difficulty connecting to the Internet remotely after October 1st, ITS recommends that you check to make sure your computer is set to obtain a DNS server address automatically. We have provided basic instructions on how to do so in the AskITS knowledgebase. Please contact your home Internet Service Provider (ISP) if you need further assistance and support.
