ITS and the NYU Libraries offer a variety of free classes that can help you take advantage of the technology and Library resources available to you in support of your research and coursework.
ITS classes (http://www.nyu.edu/its/classes) include NYU Blackboard training (see recent Blackboard 8 item,), as well as workshops in the use of the NYURoam wireless network and (in collaboration with the Libraries) statistics and mapping software.
NYURoam Wireless Workshops are held throughout the semester every Wednesday from 4-6 pm in the Kimmel Center Second Floor Commuter Lounge. During January and February, additional sessions will be offered on Fridays from noon-2pm. Please see http://www.nyu.edu/its/forms/wireless for the full schedule and to register for a workshop session.
Workshops and training in the use of GIS and statistical mapping packages are offered by the Data Service Studio, an ITS/NYU Libraries facility. In the coming weeks, these include SPSS (Introductory: Feb. 2, 10; Intermediate: Feb. 24), SAS (Feb. 9, 17), and Stata (Feb. 5), as well as classes in a variety of other research-computing related subjects. The Libraries also offer an extensive set of workshops, classes and tours in the use of Library resources and tools. Visit http://library.nyu.edu/classes for details.
