To request a new smart phone, or add services to your current smart phone, please download and fill out one of the carrier-specific forms:

- It is possible to use a variety of smart phones to access NYU resources, but ITS' support for smart phones is currently limited to BlackBerry, Android, and iPhone. If you own a different brand, it may be possible to use portions of these instructions to configure your smart phone.
- NYU Mobile is NYU's official app for iOS and Android devices, offering real-time shuttle tracking, university events, campus map, contact information from the NYU Directory, University news, and more. For additional information and instructions on downloading the app, visit www.nyu.edu/mobile.
ITS provides basic information for NYU faculty, staff, and administrators on requesting an NYU-purchased smart phone (such as an iPhone, BlackBerry, or Android device) and mobile devices (such as the iPad and iPod Touch) and configuring it to access NYU resources such as email, calendaring, NYURoam wireless access, and VPN.

Eligibility for an NYU-purchased smart phone or mobile device, and the policy for using the device, is determined by the head of your division. All requests for an NYU-purchased devices must be approved before the request is submitted to ITS.
Requesting a mobile device
To request a new smart phone, please download and fill out one of the carrier-specific forms below. ITS recommends recent models of iPhone, Android, or BlackBerry devices.
Once you have filled out one of the above forms, received departmental approval, and have all the necessary signatures, please scan and email the form to firstname.lastname@example.org. Orders take five to seven business days to arrive. ITS will contact you when the phone is ready.

ITS support for mobile devices
ITS provides online and phone support for using your device with NYU enterprise technology services. If you are an NYU staff or faculty member, and your department has determined that you are eligible for an NYU-issued mobile device, ITS Mobile can help acquire and activate it for you. See the FAQs page for details about the services, devices, and support that ITS Mobile offers. If you are ready to request a device, you can download one of the device-specific forms (see the right-hand sidebar) and email a scan of the completed, signed form to email@example.com.
If you are an NYU staff or faculty member, your department or program may participate in a service which provides for on-site and in-person smart phone support. Please visit the ITS Desktop Support page for more information.

Important Note: Because instructions change frequently and can vary from device to device and between wireless carriers (AT&T, Verizon, etc.), it's important that you rely on the product- and network-specific instructions that come with your device and are given to you by the carrier you chose. ITS' guides are intended only to provide basic information about using your smart phone at NYU, and may not reflect the most recent information from your wireless carrier and/or device manufacturer.
