On-Campus Housing

The ACH / ALLC 2001 conference will provide limited on-campus housing for conference participants at one of NYU's dorms (student hall of residence) The Weinstein Center for Student Living for the evenings of June 12th through June 16th. The Weinstein Center is a modern residence hall in the heart of the NYU campus, located on Washington square. It is only half a block from the conference facility and within walking distance of the shops, restaurants, and sights of Greenwich Village.

Rooms are air-conditioned and simply furnished with twin size beds, dressers, and desks. Linens are provided at check-in. Linen packages include a towel (towels are small, we recommend bringing an extra one), sheet set, pillow and blanket. Laundry facilities (coin operated) are available in the building. Telephones and televisions are not provided in the rooms, but public telephones and a TV are available in the hall lounge and lobby. A cafeteria-style dining hall will be available to you in the Weinstein Center for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus a coffee/pastry shop for a quick morning bite.

The Weinstein Center has a 24-hour security and hospitality staff available for any questions or emergencies that may arise during your stay. The hall also has a large library/study area that is perfect for any informal meetings or presentations you may want to organize or as a quiet area to read or prepare for the conference.

Spouses, companions, and family members over the age of 18 are welcome to stay in the on-campus housing; however, they must register for the conference as a companion, and no children under the age of 18 are permitted to stay in the Weinstein Center (no exceptions). There is also some flexibility regarding your arrival and departure dates. If you need to arrive a day early or leave a day later, please contact us by email at ach-allc@nyu.edu to make special arrangements.
