How to import a sound using SoundEdit16  

Part I : Importing the sound file from a tape deck :

  1. Plug in RCA/ To Mini into the back of tape deck. import sound1
  2. Plug mini into microphone jack on the back of the G4.
  3. Under "Apple Men_Control Panels_Sound", select the "Input" tab and change settings under"Set Up Sound Input" to the "Built-In Sound IN/ Play" sound through the output device.

Part II : Notes to consider :

  1. Settings for selected device can only be altered outside of sound editing program; you must quit Soundedit 16 to change these settings :

    a. Open Soundedit16
    b. Under the File menu select "Preferences"
    c. After settings are selected, press "Record" in the controls window and press play on your source.

Part III : Exporting sounds to tape :

  1. Plug mini plug into speaker jack on G4 for output. import sound2
  2. RCA on tape deck should be moved to input audio.
  3. Press "Play" in SoundEdit16.
  4. On the Tape Deck press the record function and supervise the levels.

*note : Sound files can also be saved as QuickTime files, AIFF format, waves, etc.
