Part I : Capturing footage from DV deck:

1. Open iMovie.
2. Click on the camera icon under the display window.
3. Press "Play" at cued video, then click "Import".
4. Click "Stop" at the end of the clip. The clip will then appear in the Shelf Section of the interface.
5. Drag clips into the timeline at the bottom of the screen, and make/create edits.

*to choose files that are already on the computer or the network, choose Import from the File menu, then select the file, and click "Import"

Part II : Outputting to Quicktime :

1. Scroll down under the file menu to export movie.
   
2. Change export mode to Quicktime and select desired format.
   
3. Click Export. iMovie will then prompt you to name your movie and to choose file destination.
   

Part III : Outputting to camera :

1. Plug DV fire wire in to camera.
2. Export movie.
3. Change Export mode to Camera.
4. Select all preferences.
5. Click Export.
