About Files 2.0

Function

Files 2.0 provides individuals and departments with secure, web-based file storage, as well as sophisticated capabilities for accessing and sharing files among individuals and members of a group, including individuals outside the NYU community. Users of this service may choose to activate their accounts for "public sharing," which allows them to host a public website.

Note: In most cases, the Web Publishing or NYU Sites services are now a better choice for creating and publishing a public website, and NYU Drive is the best solution for storing and sharing most files. However, in most cases, Webspace is still the best solution for storing and sharing sensitive data.

Access

Fill out the form at www.nyu.edu/its/filestorage/request/ to request a new Files 2.0 account or a storage quota increase for an existing Files 2.0 account.

To access Files 2.0, go to files.nyu.edu and log in with your NYU NetID and password, or click the Files Login button in the Files tab of NYUHome.
