About Files 2.0

Function
Files 2.0, also known as Files, provides individuals and departments with secure, web-based file storage, as well as sophisticated capabilities for accessing and sharing files among individuals and members of a group, including individuals outside the NYU community. Users of this service may activate their accounts for "public sharing", which allows them to host public webpages. This service is intended to eventually replace an older Files service which has been available for a number of years through NYUHome and publishes to homepages.nyu.edu.

Access
All full- and part-time faculty, staff and students will automatically have access to Files, and alumni will retain their access. Those who do not receive automatic access to Files, such as affiliates, can have their supervisors request access for them by using AskITS.

To access Files, go to https://files.nyu.edu and log in with your NYU NetID and password. Additionally, Files can be accessed via the Files tab or channel in NYUHome.

Files Help
Online help is available within the Files website or by searching AskITS. Or, contact ITS Client Services at AskITS@nyu.edu or 212-998-3333 (Monday-Friday, 8am-midnight, and Saturday-Sunday, noon-midnight).
