File Storage and Sharing: Files 2.0

About Files 2.0

Function
Files 2.0 provides individuals and departments with secure, web-based file storage, as well as sophisticated capabilities for accessing and sharing files among individuals and members of a group, including individuals outside the NYU community. Users of this service may choose to activate their accounts for "public sharing," which allows them to host a public website. (Note: Files 2.0 replaces the older Files service which publishes to homepages.nyu.edu).

Access
All full- and part-time faculty, staff and students automatically have access to Files 2.0, and alumni retain their access. Those who do not receive automatic access to Files 2.0, such as affiliates, can have their supervisors request access for them by completing the request form.

To access Files 2.0, go to https://files.nyu.edu and log in with your NYU NetID and password, or click the Files Login button in the Files tab of NYUHome.

Files Help
Online help is available within the Files website or by searching the Ask ITS knowledgebase. You can also contact the IT Service Desk at AskITS@nyu.edu or 212-998-3333 (Monday-Friday, 8am-midnight, and Saturday-Sunday, noon-midnight).
