If you are interested in participating in a pilot program, or have any questions, please complete the contact form on the left.

As part of an effort to stay current with innovations in instructional technology, ITS is often engaged in testing new tools and therefore seeks faculty volunteers who are willing to explore new technologies. The goal is to allow instructors a chance to experiment with new tools, become familiar and offer feedback.

Unlike the fully supported services provided by ITS, tools made available as part of a pilot may be in various stages of development or readiness and therefore should be used for exploration and testing purposes. Faculty with all levels of technical ability are welcome to participate. However, due to the more variable nature and lower level support for pilot software, faculty should use caution when considering the use of pilot technology for actual course or project situations where greater levels of systems performance and client support are often expected.

ALEX: Next Generation Learning Management

The ALEX pilot has completed three successful semesters that began in Spring '07. Beginning in Spring '08, the ALEX pilot will enter an intensive development phase to begin implementing solutions based on initial pilot feedback. For faculty who wish to use ALEX during this Phase, the system is still available, though with minimal support and resources. To request an ALEX site, complete the contact form and select "ALEX" from the "Technology" drop-down menu. For more information, visit the NYU ALEX website.
