NYU is transitioning from the University's current Learning Management System — NYU Blackboard — to NYU Classes, with most schools moving to NYU Classes in the Spring 2013 semester, and a targeted completion date of August 15, 2013. For more information, see www.nyu.edu/nyuclasses-project.
About NYU Blackboard
The NYU Blackboard online learning system enables NYU faculty to use the Web to enhance classroom instruction without having to learn HTML. Instructors can use NYU Blackboard to create full-featured, online course environments for the members of their class to provide:
- Easy access to content, including articles, images, and multimedia
- Enhanced communication, including class email lists, discussion boards, and real-time chat
- Streamlined assessment, including tests, surveys, and grading, as well as many other features
How to Access Blackboard
To access NYU Blackboard, log in to NYUHome, click the Academics tab,and then click the course link in the list provided. If the class you are looking for does not appear in the list, try clicking the "Update Classes Information" link at the bottom of the channel. If you experience trouble accessing an NYU Blackboard site, browse the Ask ITS knowledgebase, fill out the Ask ITS Contact Us form, or contact the IT Service Desk at 1-212-998-3333.
Note to Students
You will need active NYUHome service in order to use NYU Blackboard. To activate the service, follow the instructions at http://start.nyu.edu, then log in to NYUHome with your NetID and password. If an instructor is using NYU Blackboard for one of your academic courses, you will be enrolled automatically when you register for the class.
