- This extension does not apply to DIAL or the NYU-NET Proxy service.
- ITS Coursework Computer accounts also expire at the end of the semester of your graduation, as do accounts through most other departments or schools.
- Graduates who have accounts on machines at NYU departments such as Computer Science, Psychology, or Stern, however, should consult with their school's Account Administrator or Help Desk to determine the individual school's account policies.
Congratulations on Your Graduation!
To make this transition period in your life as convenient as possible, the NYU Office of Development and Alumni Relations has teamed with Information Technology Services (ITS) to continue your access to the NYUHome portal and your NYU email indefinitely! That means that as you go out and find new jobs, new schools, and new residences, changing your email address is one less thing that you will have to worry about.
Through NYUHome or a desktop email client of your choice, you can access the same email account that you have used since you enrolled. And as you make the transition from student to alumnus, so will your NYUHome channels. Gone will be links to Albert and classes, for instance, and in their places will be a whole new set of links of interest to alumni, including VioletNet, the online alumni directory and career building center, and the NYU alumni calendar, your source for up-to-date information on alumni activities around Washington Square and across the country.
In the meantime, check out the NYU Alumni website at http://www.nyu.edu/alumni/ for a listing of all the great benefits and services offered by the NYU Office of Development and Alumni Relations. While you are there, make sure you sign up for the Recent Alumni Network—a networking group created especially for young alumni like you—and be sure to check out VioletNet, our online community exclusively for NYU alumni.
Services That Will Be Extended
NYU Email
Access to NYU email, e.g., YourNetID@nyu.edu will be extended indefinitely for graduates as of January 2001 and later. If you wish to access your NYU email through a different email account, follow the email forwarding instructions in the NYU Email section.
NYUHome
As part of this new benefit, your NYUHome service will continue to remain active after you complete your studies or leave the University, provided that you graduated as of January 2001 or later and your account continues to show activity at least once every six months. Please note that because NYUHome is a role-based resource, you may notice a few differences in the channels that are available to you once you become an alumni (as described above).
Services That Will NOT Be Extended
