Individuals who have been approved for Visiting Scholar status at NYU will receive confirmation of their appointment from the Dean of their host school. The Office of Academic Appointments will send an NYU ID Authorization Card to the home department for the visiting member, which authorizes them to receive their NYUCard and an NYU NetID from the NYU Card Center. The NYU NetID is used to properly authenticate individuals when they are accessing the University's networked computer resources, such as NYUHome and NYU email.
