Common Data Committee
The Common Data Committee creates a forum for discussing and resolving data issues and for fostering common understanding and consistency in data entry and use. The committee was founded in September 2003 with the mission to:
- Adopt and use consistent data definitions and standards for reporting
- Increase accuracy and reliability of data
- Coordinate analytical resources and reduce duplication of effort
- Maintain and promote reliable data sources for the university community's needs
The committee brings together key data managers, users, and analysts from various university units, including the offices of Institutional Research and Program Evaluation, Undergraduate Admissions, the University Registrar, Academic Appointments, and Equal Opportunity. It meets monthly and addresses a range of issues. If you are interested in learning more about the Common Data Committee, contact Rachel Maxwell at rachel.maxwell@nyu.edu or 212.998.2311.
