Ruth Braunstein is a research assistant for the NYU Institute for Public Knowledge and a research associate for the Social Science Research Council, where she works on projects on Religion and the Public Sphere. She is also an Editor-at-Large of The Immanent Frame, an SSRC blog on secularism, religion and the public sphere and the coordinator for NYLON, an international research network of young sociologists, historians, and cultural studies scholars. She is a doctoral student in the department of sociology at New York University, where she is studying political sociology, social movements and religion. She received her B.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, with a focus on international culture and politics.
