Nicolas Guilhot is research fellow and program officer at the Social Science Research Council in New York. He is also senior researcher at the CNRS in Paris, a position from which he is currently on leave. His research focuses on the history of international relations theory, and on the role of philanthropy in the development of the social sciences. Prior to joining the SSRC and the IPK, he has taught in the department of sociology and the Center for the Study of Human Rights at the London School of Economics, and at Columbia University. He earned his doctorate from the European University Institute in Florence in 2001.
