Nandi Dill is a PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology at New York University. For the past two years she has worked with the Social Science Research Council on developing a platform for disseminating data on social scientific responses to Hurricane Katrina and connecting researchers pursuing disaster related research. Dill's work is broadly oriented around the sociology of punishment, visual representations of distant suffering and racial and ethnic relations. She received her B.A. in Economics from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
