Harel Shapira joined the Institute for Public Knowledge as a Postdoctoral Fellow in January 2010 after completing his PhD in Sociology from Columbia University. Harel directs the Poiesis Fellowship and is completing Waiting for José, an ethnography of the Minutemen, which is forthcoming with Princeton University Press. He received his B.A. from the University of Chicago and misses Jimmy's Woodlawn Tap.
