August 31, 2008 5:09 PM

In August, InterCEP Associate Director Dr. Matt Statler attended the 43rd Annual International Logistics Conference and Exhibition, organized by SOLE - the International Society of Logistics. The overall theme of the conference was the transformation of logistics systems in the global economy, and the keynote presentation by Dr. Yossi Sheffi of MIT focused on the importance of resilience for logistics operations.

Dr. Statler's presentation, "Interdependency and Resilience: Exploring the Potential of the New Voluntary Business Preparedness Certification Program" addressed ways in which Public Law 110- 53, Title IX may provide logistics and supply chain operators with a means of developing increased levels of resilience. The content of Dr. Statler's presentation was published as an article (co-authored with Bill Raisch and Margaret Della) in a recent issue of Logistics Spectrum.
