February 4, 2008 3:05 PM
In an effort to promote and facilitate input by key stakeholders into the development of the new certification program, working group forums are being considered to identify issues and recommendations of key stakeholders groups. InterCEP is contemplating hosting several working groups around targeted areas. The objective of these forums would be to provide input to the Department of Homeland Security and any accrediting and certification organizations ultimately designated. In addition, these working groups could potentially facilitate cooperative action in their targeted areas. InterCEP welcomes cooperation and collaboration with other organizations in this effort. Current planning calls for working groups in the following areas, additional recommendations are welcomed.
* Supply Chain Management
* Mitigating Legal Liability
* Rating Agency Acknowledgement
* Insurance
* Integration with other Business Reporting Requirements
In addition, an Online Clearinghouse & Forum is contemplated to promote early stage access to information about the developing certification program. Such a website might also provide a forum for the identification of issues and perspectives on the program. InterCEP welcomes cooperation with other organizations in this effort and seeks to address a current need identified by stakeholders for information on the program as well as related activities. As the program matures, this need for a clearinghouse will be re-evaluated. Further details on the online clearing house will be announced in the near future.
