January 2007 -- The International Center for Enterprise Preparedness convened the first National Roundtable on Acknowledging Corporate Preparedness & Resiliency in New York City on January 30, 2007. This Roundtable brought together senior counsels, legal and insurance industry associations, corporate preparedness executives, rating agencies, and representation from U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Securities & Exchange Commission.
This Roundtable successfully identified key issues and obstacles pertaining to current approaches to acknowledging corporate preparedness & resiliency including those based on insurance, legal liability, rating agencies, and public markets. Additionally, the Roundtable evaluated the need for and potential strategies to advance a more coordinated approach to acknowledging preparedness and resiliency based upon the existing National Preparedness Standard (NFPA 1600) and other guidance.
Participants discussed and confirmed the findings of the Center’s draft white papers which detail the fundamental elements of current legal, insurance and rating agency acknowledgement for corporate preparedness. Click on the links below for access to these publications:
