InterCEP Joins Coalition of More Than 1,150 in National Preparedness Month

September 1, 2006 2:59 PM

The International Center for Enterprise Preparedness (InterCEP) at New York University joined more than 1,150 national, regional, state and local organizations in promoting September as National Preparedness Month. InterCEP is proud to be a National Preparedness Month 2006 Coalition Member to especially underscore the necessity of public emergency preparedness this month, but also to further the Center’s mission in advancing emergency management and business continuity.

Every September, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) launches this effort to encourage Americans to plan for emergencies to ensure that their families, workplace, and communities are ready to respond in the case of a disaster. DHS particularly stresses individuals to get an emergency supply kit, make a family emergency plan, be informed about different threats, and get involved in preparing their communities in such activities as Citizen Corps (www.citizencorps.gov).

Should you wish to learn more about how you can prepare your business, family, or community for an emergency, and upcoming National Preparedness Month events, please visit the U.S. Homeland Security website at: www.ready.gov
